Herson Gamez has spent 23 of those years working in mining, both underground and surface mining, and in processing plants.

He is a graduate of the National University of Engineering, with a master’s degree in Engineering Project Management from the Federico Villarreal National University. He began his career as an Operations Engineer and later specialized in Safety and the Environment. He has completed several postgraduate courses in human resources, mining safety, and environmental issues. In northern Peru’s mining companies, he participated in the certification of management systems for companies such as CMH and Marsa, which complemented his academic training with international standards for safety, environment, and quality that were only recently being implemented in medium-sized mining companies back in 2005. For various reasons, his involvement in mining projects led him to become fully involved in the design, construction, budgeting, authorization, and cost control of mining companies that were just starting out, even from scratch. Herson Gámez Zambrano lives in Lima with his family, enjoys classic movies, is an avid military collector, and plays soccer when he has time. Loyalty, perseverance, and honesty are the main values that summarize his professional career.
