Ivan Salas reviews OCIM’s development in Peru in an interview with Gestión

Peru’s leading economic media outlet devoted considerable space in its columns to OCIM’s development strategy in Peru. In a lengthy interview, Ivan Salas, OCIM’s operations director, discussed the acquisition of the two gold ore processing plants Chala One and Kori One (which have since been renamed Yakari and Victoria) and on their rapid return to operational status. These acquisitions are presented as a prelude to other operations aimed at strengthening OCIM’s production capacity in the South of the country, making the group a major player in the country’s gold sector.

It is also noted that this development strategy is based on a responsible approach to both mining and processing, which is the only way to enable the sustainable development of the communities concerned. “Our great work is precisely to guarantee compliance, traceability, and due diligence, which allows us to responsibly increase our purchase volumes“, concludes Iván Salas, OCIM’s operations director, at the end of the interview.

Many thanks to Karen Guardia, journalist at Gestion, for these compelling interview.
