Marco Leonardo


Marco Leonardo leads the overall operation of the processing plants, as well as the logistics, finance, administration, and IT departments. He directly supervises the day-to-day running of the business and ensures operational efficiency, gold traceability, risk management, and the strategic alignment of all support areas with the company’s objectives. He reports directly to the General Management of Soleil Metals SA.

As the person responsible for on-site operations, he oversees the strategic execution of the business in coordination with the OCIM Group’s headquarters, supervising technical, logistical, administrative, and regulatory compliance processes. In addition, he drives the development of special projects for growth, continuous improvement, and international certifications aligned with the demands of the international gold market.

His professional experience spans more than 15 years in the mining and industrial sectors, having held executive positions at leading companies such as Compañía de Minas Buenaventura, Sociedad Minera de Santander (Soto Norte project), Cautivo Mining, and Lundin Gold (Fruta del Norte), where he led multidisciplinary teams in expansion and restructuring contexts in Peru, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Ecuador.

He holds a degree in economics from the University of Lima and an MBA from the Pacífico Business School. He has complemented his education with international executive programs at the University of British Columbia (Valuation of Mineral Projects), Harvard Business School (Negotiation and Competitive Decision-Making), and Gerens Graduate School, where he specialized in strategic mining management. He is bilingual, speaking Spanish and English.

With a results-oriented approach, collaborative leadership, and strategic vision, Marco contributes to consolidating Soleil’s position as a leader in the responsible and traceable processing of gold from artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM).
